Till L8 Cypher Is Back: Two Floors, Four Styles, One Epic Afternoon
The Till L8 Cypher is back for 2026, and this year we are turning things up. What started as a one-night experiment to bring freestyle culture to our studio has grown into one of the most anticipated events on the Five6seven8 calendar. This May, we are spreading across two dedicated dance floors, giving every style the space it deserves to breathe, battle, and go off.
Whether you have been dancing for years or you have been working up the nerve to show what you have got, this is your day. All levels, all ages, all welcome.
Two Floors, Built for the Culture
This year we are dedicating each floor to the vibe it deserves.
Floor 1: Break Dancing
The breakers get their own floor, full stop. No sharing, no compromising on space. This is where the toprock meets the floorwork, where cyphers form and the crowd gathers. Whether you are here to battle, to learn, or to watch some of the dopest breaking in Johannesburg, Floor 1 is where history gets made.
Floor 2: Hip Hop, Shuffling and K-Pop
Floor 2 is a high-energy melting pot of three styles that, honestly, belong together. The hip hop heads, the shuffle crews, and the K-pop community all share one dancefloor in the best way possible. Expect the unexpected, expect collabs, and expect the music to keep you moving from start to finish.
What to Expect on the Day
We have structured the afternoon to give you time to warm up, learn something new, and then let loose in the open cypher.
- 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Group Class – Kick off with an open group class covering elements from all four styles. Perfect for warming up, breaking the ice, and getting a taste of what each floor has in store.
- 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Open Cypher – Both floors open up for freestyle, social dancing, and cyphers. No format, no pressure. Just you, the music, and the community.

We have kept the entry accessible because the whole point is to get the community on the floor.

- Crew Deal: R150 for you and a friend – bring your crew, split the cost
Why You Should Be There
The Till L8 Cypher is not a performance night. There are no judges, no prizes, and no pressure to be the best in the room. It is a social dance event built on the original spirit of the cypher: show up, share your energy, connect with other dancers, and leave better than you arrived.
Two floors means more space, more music, and more moments. Whether you plant yourself on the breaking floor for the full three hours or bounce between styles all afternoon, there is no wrong way to spend your Saturday.
